A visionary leader in the field of geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering, holding a Ph.D. in geotechnical engineering focused on wind turbine foundations and a master’s degree specializing in tailings storage facilities—both earned from the prestigious Western University in Canada.
With over 14 years of experience in policy and engineering projects, Dr. Yazeed has played a critical role in shaping sustainable mining practices in Saudi Arabia. He formerly served as Director of Mining Closure and Rehabilitation at the Saudi Mining Services Company (ESNAD), where he led efforts in geohazard management and regulatory compliance for all mining licenses. His work contributed significantly to aligning mining operations with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, emphasizing sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Dr. Yazeed is deeply committed to driving meaningful progress on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) both in Saudi Arabia and globally. His passion extends beyond engineering, as he actively works to inspire younger generations to embrace change for the betterment of the planet.
Currently, Dr. Yazeed manages a geotechnical consulting startup registered with the Federal Government of Canada. Through this venture, he offers specialized consulting services and continues to contribute to research and innovation in the geotechnical community.
At Prince Mugren University, Yazeed role as a board memebr of college of engineering advisory committee helps guides engineering curricula to produce future leaders equipped to advance the sector.
• Oversaw geohazard assessments and environmental risk mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance with Kingdom Vision 2030.
• Review of a 1.3 billion riyals RC studies, minimizing geoenvironmental hazards.
• Spearheaded sustainable mining initiatives at ESNAD, shaping future policies in the Saudi mining sector.
At GeoConsults, we strive to uphold the highest standard of scientific consultation and design for our clients. I have established this firm to stay and succeed.
I lead research grant projects within QU and supervise students for master degree to overcome their research issues, I direct and oversee their progress beside teaching gradute and undergraduate courses. Courses I teach include CEE 600 (Advanced Foundation Engineering) CE363 (Foundation Engineering), Senior Design Project I and II, CE 285 (Introduction to Geotechnical Engineering), Math 106 and Statics.
I conducted a number of experiments on novel foundation option for offshore wind turbine as part of my thesis at Western University, London ON, Canada
I taught soil mechanics lab CEE3321/3322 for a number of semesters with Dr. Sadrekarimi. I also taught foundation engineering course, CEE4426 with Dr. Newson.
Taugh soil mechanics lab CE354 to undergraduate students
Defended my thesis on the behavior of improved dam slope stability for tailings treated with recycled wastes
Taught soil mechanics and soil mechanics lab CE353 CE354 to undergraduate students
